Jacky’s Electronics, the UAE’s leading multi-brand electronics retailer, has begun 2009 with the unveiling of its newest Dubai Mall outlet in the presence of His Excellency Venu Rajamony, Honourable Consul General of India.
The company, which also operates a Jacky’s Express at the ground level of the mall, has invested more than US$2 million (AED7.3 million) in the two Dubai Mall outlets. Located on the second level, the 8,000 square feet Jacky’s Electronics outlet encompasses special zones for several brand partners as well as the largest Jacky’s dedicated gaming section for live demonstration.
“It is a strategic decision for Jacky’s to have two outlets in Dubai Mall as it is the largest shopping mall in the country. The Jacky’s Express on the ground level will target shoppers looking for digital lifestyle products while the Jacky’s Electronics at the second level offers a complete IT product range, home appliances and a wider range of audio video products to consumers,” said Jimmy Patel, General  Manager, Jacky’s Electronics.

“The main attractions of the newly opened outlet are the various special zones for major partners such as Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, LG, JVC and Philips for the television section. It also contains dedicated home theatre demonstration rooms, touch & feel zones for cameras and mobile phones and a dedicated gaming area,” he added.

Additionally, Jacky’s Electronics Dubai Mall outlet has specialised store-in-store concepts including HP for their range of laptops and printers and Sony for their range of VAIO laptops and digital home products. The company has also partnered with Bosch to showcase its latest kitchen concepts in the built-in kitchen area within the outlet.

The opening of the current outlet forms part of Jacky’s 2009 retail expansion plans across the UAE. In the middle of the first quarter of 2009, Jacky’s will open its first Al Ain outlet in Bawadi Mall.

“Although the impact of the economic slowdown will probably be felt across all sectors, it will vary from industry to industry. The electronics industry in the region is still going to be relatively better off as the market for gifting electronics products has been growing constantly. With consumer electronics as part of everyday life, we will still see people continuing to buy this year, however, it will be value for money rather than the fashion appeal that will influence their purchasing decisions,” Patel commented.

To celebrate the opening of its thirteenth outlet, Jacky's is extending its series of aggressive Dubai Shopping Festival promotions which offer customers the chance to win 2009 LG mobile phones. There will also be exciting bundle offers across various products categories including Jacky’s Extended Warranty schemes.
