D-Link Wins PC Magazine’s Technical Excellence Award for Green Ethernet Innovations
D-Link Middle East, the end-to-end computer network solutions provider for consumer and business, today announced that it has won the “2008 PC Magazine Technical Excellence Award” for its D-Link Green™ technology innovations. This award represents one of the highest honors bestowed upon innovation in the computer and technology industry, and among the 15 finalists in the annual awards program, D-Link has proudly won the award in the category “Ecotech”.
D-Link’s Green Technology has proven to be extremely popular with PC Magazine’s many editors and contributing writers who, out of the hundreds of newly introduced products last year, voted for D-Link.
PC Magazine quoted D-Link as an example of “smart computing” and noted further that “often times it’s the little innovations that make the biggest differences.   Most people don’t think about the power consumption of their modems and routers. Fortunately, D-Link has been worrying about it.” Describing D-Link’s recent release of its green product line, PC Magazine highlighted the two incorporated and intelligent detection technologies that help to reduce power consumption by stating that “products like the DGS-1005D detect when ports are inactive, adjusting the power usage accordingly.  These devices can also analyze the length of the attached Ethernet cables and reduce the power transmitted.”
“We feel extremely honored to receive this most prestigious award from PC Magazine, an established and undisputed authority in computing and Internet technology,” said Harrison Albert, Regional Sales Director at D-Link Middle East.
Each year, PC Magazine presents its Technical Excellence Awards to companies and individuals that excel in creating new technologies, concepts and major advances in various existing product categories.
