Damascus Radio said that the aim of calls for holding future regional and international conferences on the Mid-East conflict is to “liquidate the al Aqsa Intifada” and to, “abort its efforts to end the Israeli occupation and ensure… national rights” of the Palestinians.

In its daily political commentary on Sunday, the state-run radio, “wondered whether the Madrid Conference and reference has been withdrawn since the talk is centered on a conference or more to solve the Arab-Israeli conflict”, the official SANA News Agency reported.

The radio added that the Madrid reference is being hindered due to Israel’s refusal to “withdraw to the line of June 4th 1967”.

Furthermore, the radio indicated that Israel rejects a just and comprehensive peace according to the land for peace principle, SANA added.

It is “useless to say” that holding a peace conference would yield any results except attaining further gains for Israel. Otherwise, according to the News Agency, Washington would have exerted efforts to renew the peace process in line with the Madrid Conference. (Albawaba.com)
