Danube Building Materials FZCO, a leading player in the construction, interior decoration, and shop-fitting industry, has announced its participation in the upcoming gulfBID 2007, one of the largest construction, interiors, and furniture exhibitions in the Northern Gulf, to be held from May 15-17 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre. The company is participating at gulfBID for the first time and this follows its recent investment of AED 30 million into a large-scale facility in Salmabad, Bahrain with a view towards tapping the booming Bahrain and Saudi markets.
Visitors to the exhibition will be able to view an extensive array of products including exotic species in the timber/lumber range and the highly saleable Kingplex and King Plus plywood. In addition to the House of Laminates, the world’s largest collection of laminates, the company will also feature other products including its sanitary fittings and luxury bath solutions as well as hardware, glass and aluminium products. Visitors can also avail of the 2007 Danube product catalogue that will be distributed at the exhibition, which will give customers an in-depth knowledge of the company’s 10,000 products including essential details such as colour, texture, size and application.
“The market potential for construction products in the Northern Gulf region is huge, with the value of the market estimated to be around US$ 9.2 billion. This drives Danube to further consolidate its position in the market by introducing high quality products and leverage its strengths of extensive product range and fully-equipped facility”, said Rizwan Sajan, Chairman, Danube. “Following our expansion in Bahrain, our participation in events such as gulfBID is part of our aggressive business strategy, as it will allow us to reach key audience within a short time and establish or enhance existing relations with prospect partners and end-users.”
gulfBID 2007 is expected to bolster Danube’s corporate plans to exploit a surge in Bahrain’s construction and interior decoration sectors with major infrastructure projects underway. The country’s strategic location in the Northern Gulf also makes it a gateway to vast opportunities in neighbouring markets of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait.
“During the event, we will target the business sector particularly the woodworking joinery, construction, and mid-scale carpentry units in addition to interior designers, with offerings that are relevant to their needs. The exhibition is also a convenient opportunity for end-users to explore some of our products, which are carried by our state-of-the-art Salmabad showroom,” concluded Sajan.
Danube recently expanded into the industrial area of Salmabad, developing a state-of-the-art showroom and dry kiln facility. The multi-million dirham venture was propped by a highly successful initial opening with hardwood and exotic veneers, hardware, sanitary ware, steel, aluminium and glass products meeting enormous demand. The expansion into Bahrain was fuelled by a demand for Danube’s products in addition to the country’s stable industrial and financial infrastructure.
