In its continuous efforts to offer a reliable IT infrastructure to building one of the most advanced aviation hubs in the world, Department of Civil Aviation Dubai, (DCA), announced today the appointment of Computer Network Systems (CNS) to provide technical support services for DCA mail and file server systems in Dubai International Airport.
With the completion of the multi-billion dollar expansion project in 2006, Dubai International Airport is bracing itself to handle rapidly growing demand on its IT infrastructure. With vision to have Dubai International Airport outshine any airport in the region, DCA’s IT department is constantly looking into innovative ways to make the Dubai International Airport experience an unforgettable one.
“In addition to making sure that we select and operate the latest technological innovations, we utilize these technologies to the maximum to guarantee the most efficient allocation of DCA resources,” said Mr. Ghanim Mohammed Al Falasi, Director Information Technology, Information Technology Directorate, Government of Dubai, Department of Civil Aviation. “Additionally, we work hard to broaden our e-transformation strategy and induce a working culture that is built on the concepts of modernity, renovation and self-discovery.”
Mr. Al Falasi revealed in a meeting with CNS Customer Support team that DCA’s vision is to utilize cutting-edge technology to help reducing the travel burdens of thousands of passengers that go through the Dubai airport everyday.
“Our objectives are heavily dependant on building and upgrading DCA’s IT infrastructure in a way that delivers to all Dubai International Airport’s growing requirements. Whether it was passengers, airlines, cargo or even Department of immigration or Dubai Police, our services are built on best-practice and in accordance to local and international standards,” added Mr. Al Falasi.
“One of the concepts that we could be looking into in the near future is an in-house developed “Passenger Profiling Systems”. Such a solution can help us offer a more personalized service by identifying different needs by different individuals across the entire airport community.”
Moreover, a special committee has been set up for the purpose of making sure that the Information Technology Directorate at DCA is efficiently utilizing the best available resources to achieve the desired objectives through the deployment of the most advanced innovations in the field of information technology.
On the other hand, CNS systems support and technical back-up engineers, in collaboration with DCA IT, will be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to immediately respond and resolve any problem that might affect DCA’s server environment such as the File Server and Mission Critical Systems for the entire Dubai International Airport.
“We are honoured to be entrusted with such an immense responsibility. This is a landmark moment in our history that proves the level of relationship which both organizations have nurtured through out the long years of mutual cooperation,” said Mr. Tony Alam, Managing Director in CNS.
The Department of Civil Aviation is committed to ensuring that passengers using Dubai International Airport recognize it as the world’s leading airport. With the help of the Government of Dubai, it aims to build the most advanced aviation hub, not just in the region, but in the world.
“Establishing rigid IT infrastructure is essential in moving towards our vision to be the air travel hub of the future. With a steady and foundational technology communications infrastructure, DCA is confident of its abilities to face the growth of operations that will arise from the expansion of the Dubai International Airport,” concluded Mr. Al Falasi.
