DHL, the leading express logistics provider in the Kingdom, recently honoured two of its employees with awards after they demonstrated courage and dedication during the Lebanese conflict.
DHL Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Drivers, Jaffar Ali Al Haiki and Abdul Aleem Jaffar Hasan Abdulla Al Sebaa were on the Bahrain-Jordan-Lebanon route the day that Israel started bombing Lebanon.
The two DHL employees were at the border with other DHL contractors when the bombing started on the first day of the conflict and rather than thinking of themselves, they rallied round and escorted the contractors into Lebanon to Beirut Airport and out to safety.
DHL presented appreciative gifts for the two employees’ efforts and courage during the August Employee of the Month Award presentation.
“One of our core values at DHL is to accept social responsibilities and on that day in Lebanon our dedicated employees proudly put this value into action. We are proud to have such courageous employees in DHL and more importantly we are glad they have returned safe and sound to be presented with these Courage Awards as a thank you for their efforts”, said Darren Hague, Road Operations Manager at DHL Bahrain.
Bahraini Jaffar Al Haiki has been with the company since November 1999 while Abdul Aleem Al Sebaa joined DHL in September 2002.
