DHL scopes top award at Supply Chain & Transport Awards 2007
Award further demonstrate DHL’s expertise in offering unrivalled express logistics services
DHL, the world’s leading express and logistics company, has been recognised at the Supply Chain & Transport Awards 2007 for its innovation, service excellence and commitment to providing customers with superior express and logistics solutions.
Named Express Logistics Provider of the Year at last night’s ceremony, the award reinforces DHL’s position as the market leader in the express and logistics industry in the Middle East. The ceremony, held in Dubai hosted 250 of the region’s shipping, cargo, logistics and port professionals.

The criteria for Express Logistics Provider of the Year focused on consistency in offering world-class services and facilities across the Middle East in the past 12 months. According to the judging panel, DHL showed exceptional performance in the field of express logistics, including network coverage, volumes transported, customer service and safety initiatives in 2006.
“With shortening product lifecycles and growth in demand for outsourcing, air freight logistics has become increasingly sophisticated over the past years. We believe this award is a significant testament to our capability and flexibility in managing our customers’ changing requirements efficiently,” said Dirk Van Doorn, Express Logistics Manager for DHL Middle East.
The award follows a series of recent DHL initiatives to tap growth opportunities in the Middle East. Recent developments include unrivalled service offering with several launches such as Time-Definite products, Import Express, XL Express and Export Express. By providing customers with these solutions, DHL provides a 24/7 365 day service across the globe from the Middle East.

Including 16 categories in total, covering the logistics, sea freight and air cargo sectors, the annual SCATA awards ceremony was organised by ITP, the largest business and consumer magazine publisher in the Middle East to acknowledge the best of the best, and set the high standard for the Middle East’s transportation and logistics industry.
