Three Daesh militants disguised in military garb killed at least eight people and injured 17 in an attack on a local government office on the outskirts of Baghdad on Tuesday, Reuters reported.

One of the attackers blew himself up inside the office building, while the other two suspects were still at large at the time of reporting.

Police said one of the 17 people wounded was the head of deputy district council Shakir al-Issawi, who leaped from the window of his office after the explosion.

In a statement, Daesh claimed the three attackers had killed "dozens of apostates," according to Reuters.
