Diyar Al Muharraq Announces 90% Completion of Ras Raya Harbor
Project to be completed by end of month
 
Senior Diyar Al Muharraq officials visited Ras Raya Harbor in Samaheej on Sunday (June 7th) to see the progress of the project, 90% of which has been completed so far. Representing Diyar Al Muharraq in the visit Chairman Abdulhakim Al Khayyat and CEO Aaref Hejres, who were also accompanied during their visit by Director of Marine Preservation Jassim Al Qassir.

The BD 3.4 million harbor, fully funded by Diyar Al Muharraq and dedicated for the benefit of the local fishermen of the area, is a modern and fully-equipped fishing harbor that will serve the local fishermen of Muharraq and its villages. The harbor covers an area of over 100,000 square meters north of Samaheej and Al Deir village, and will house approximately 190 fishing boats and 60 dhows , and boasts full modern amenities such as a dedicated electrical sub-station, fuel station supplying both petrol and diesel, water tanks, 120 storage units, a building for workshops, and a protective perimeter fence, among others.

The project is one of numerous initiatives by DIyar Al Muharraq to directly support the fishermen and community as a whole for the betterment of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The fishermen at the site gave their feedback about the project and thanked the company for its efforts which directly support Bahrain’s fishing community.

Ras Raya Harbor is due for completion and handover to the fishermen at the end of the month.
