DMA honours trainees with special needs

The Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) honoured their special needs summer trainees in a ceremony yesterday. The ceremony was attended by H.E. Mohamed Sghayar Al Dhaheri, Executive Director- Support Services and by Mr. Adel Al Housani, Recruitment and Employment Specialist at Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs, as well as some of the DMA's employees. This honouring ceremony marks the end of the trainees' experience with the DMA, and highlights the DMA's commitment to integrating people with special needs into the community and enhancing their career opportunities.

During H.E. Al Dhaheri's speech at the ceremony he said: "We thank Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs for their efforts in supporting people with special needs. These efforts contribute to making these people part of the national work system in the country. We always look forward to supporting and accepting special needs trainees at the DMA, so they can gain experience of the work environment and enhance their professional skills, all of which will help prepare them for actual jobs."

Commenting on the great training opportunity provided by the DMA for people with special needs, Mr. Al Housani said: "The DMA was one of the first entities to respond to our request and opened its doors. The trainees received high-level training and experience that will really help them to integrate into any job they are recruited for in the UAE"

H.E. Al Dhaheri concluded his speech by saying: "It is now up to the trainees to take advantage of this opportunity and become working professionals in the Emirate, in addition to encouraging their colleagues to follow their footsteps. The DMA is working on making all governmental buildings in the Emirate accessible for all people with special needs. The DMA supports people with special needs, as every person has a role to play in building the country's community and contributing to its development."
