DOMOTEX Middle East ties up with international interior design group to target region's multi-billion dollar potential
Speakers invited by the Association for Professional Interior Designers to discuss important role of floor coverings in interior design
DOMOTEX Middle East 2009, the only dedicated carpets and floor coverings exhibition in the MENA region, has announced that it has fortified the exhibition's dedicated Interior Design for Flooring segment as part of a strategy to position DOMOTEX Middle East as an ideal gateway to facilitate an estimated USD 59 billion worth of interior decoration contracts in the region this year. Moreover, DOMOTEX Middle East 2009 will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from May 17 to 19, leveraging a key partnership with the Association for Professional Interior Designers (APID) to further strengthen the exhibition's status as the premier showcase for new trends and best practices in floor covering designs.
As part of its expanded and enhanced line-up of activities this year, DOMOTEX Middle East is poised to inaugurate the Flooring Seminar, a new facet of the exhibition that has been established to provide APID members and potential members with information about the role of flooring in interior design. More than 100 professional interior designers and several renowned local and international speakers are expected to attend the seminar, which will facilitate a high-level exchange of ideas about the important role of flooring in interior design and new industry trends.

DOMOTEX Middle East noted that emerging development projects in fast-growing markets such as Qatar, along with the significant fit-out requirements of recently completed projects in leading markets such as the UAE, will help drive demand for interior design solutions in the region. Accordingly, DOMOTEX Middle East has partnered with APID to develop activities and innovations in the dedicated segment for flooring covering designs that will help certify the event as an important platform for product launchings, networking, benchmarking and business development in the interior design industry.
The DOMOTEX Middle East Creative Flooring segment offers visitors exclusive "how-to" demonstrations on the latest techniques in installing floor coverings, particularly in hotels and offices. A wide variety of flooring products will also be presented by professional installers and trainers from the UK. The Designers Corner will feature architects and designers who will take part in various seminars as well as showcases and product displays by suppliers of design flooring.
DOMOTEX Middle East 2009 will showcase a complete line of handmade and machine-made carpets; textile and resilient floor coverings; parquet and wooden flooring; laminates; sports arena flooring; fibres, yarns and textiles; cleaning and application technologies; ceramic tiles; and natural stone and marble floorings. The exhibition and trade fair attracts key industry players such as wholesalers and retailers of floor coverings, decision makers in the contracting business, planners, architects, interior designers, construction companies, project planners, floor fitters and other skilled workers from the sector.
