Dubai Investments Park’s (DIP) Ramadan traffic safety campaign under the banner ‘Drive Slow While People Fast’ concluded today with great response from residents, workers and visitors. Organized by DIP, the campaign aimed at increasing public traffic awareness and reminding drivers of the principles of safe driving and being alert to traffic rules.

Till the last day, DIP management distributed fresh Laban, dates and educational brochures on safe driving during the holy month of Ramadan.

"The campaign drew strong response from residents, workers and visitors, as traffic safety has become of great importance due to the rising number of road accidents in the region” said Saeed Bugarah, DIP Chief Operating Officer.

“To reach the largest number of drivers, we also distributed many Arabic and English brochures,” he added.

The campaign also displayed crashed cars at the DIP’s exits, reflecting Dubai Police’s active participation at DIP safety drive.

Dubai Police showed the public a realistic picture of tragic car accidents caused by non-adherence to traffic laws. It wanted to alert inattentive drivers to the importance of traffic guidelines which were primarily put in place for their safety. Brochures on traffic safety for children and the consequence of not adhering to traffic rules were also distributed by Dubai Police.

In addition, Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) gave out booklets on time and road limitations set for trucks who are mostly involved in car accidents and congesting roads. Children’s educational CDs on road crossing, car seating, usage of buses and the risks of non-abidance to traffic regulations, were also circulated,

At the end of the campaign, DIP, Dubai Police and RTA officials stressed on the need for more regional safety campaigns in order to reduce the rising number of traffic accidents and to create an accident-free society respectful to the rights of others.
