Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) has announced that it has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) in order to host their annual convention in Dubai in November 2010.

DTCM Director General Khalid A. Bin Sulayem signed the MoU on behalf of DTCM while Ajay Prakash, TAFI's Secretary General, was the Federation's signatory. The signing ceremony was attended by a number of major Federation member companies and several senior DTCM officials.

Bin Sulayem conveyed DTCM's gratitude to the Secretary General and members of the Federation for choosing Dubai as a venue for their convention, and said that this move underlines the importance of UAE-India tourism relations, especially since India is a major tourism market for UAE, particularly for Dubai.

The TAFI's annual convention will be held from November 25 to 30, 2010 at the Al Murooj Rotana Hotel and is expected to attract around 1,000 participants from all major Indian agency members of the Federation.

Travel Agents Federation of India is one of the most important Federations concerned with tourism in India. Its total member count is 1,400, all accredited by IATF (International Air Transport Federation), and it represents a 70 per cent market share of India's outbound tourism.

Established in 1986, Travel Agents Federation of India is responsible for regulating the tourism sector in India in order to protect the rights of passengers.
