Dubai’s Victory Heights has completed 81 percent of its phase one villas and will start work on construction of the project’s first community centre in May this year, the developers of the luxury golfing community announced today.

To date, 615 villas have been completed out of a total of 780-sold units that make up phase one of the residential community, which surrounds the award-winning The Els Club golf course.

Further figures show that 61 percent of all sold villas have been handed over to homeowners, with three of the community’s seven villages, Carmen, Estrella and Olivia, already reaching 100 percent completion and delivery. Handover is due to be completed in the villages of Novelia and Esmerelda in the next few months.

The construction contract for Victory Heights’ first community centre has also recently been awarded to Proscape, and work is due to start this May. The centre will be an important focal point for the community, which lies at the heart of Dubai Sports City where a wide range of world-class sporting facilities are being built.

“Hitting the 81 percent milestone in the completion of our luxury villas is an important step in the overall delivery of the Victory Heights community. We are moving ahead to plan with development of the remaining villas and facilities, notably the construction of our first community centre which will kick-off this month. This will be followed by a second community centre which we will start construction on in the coming months. Both facilities will further enhance an already vibrant community where families enjoy a healthy lifestyle,” said Yasser Abdulrahman Al Raee, General Manager, Victory Heights.

Mat Petre, originally from Sweden, who has just moved into a new villa in the Novelia village, said: “We decided to buy in Victory Heights because we loved the design of the villa and its beautiful location overlooking the golf course, as well as the development’s close vicinity to the sporting facilities of Dubai Sports City.”

“I’m a keen golfer and now my three kids have also taken up the game I’m sure we will be spending quite a bit of our spare time making use of the fantastic Els Club course,” he added.

Both The Els Club and The Butch Harmon School of Golf are within walking distance of the villa community, offering beginners and seasoned players the chance to practice their game.

Just five minutes drive away is the International Cricket Stadium, where national and international cricket and football matches are played, and five Sporting Academies which offer world-class coaching to children of all ages in football, hockey, rugby, swimming, and cricket, which are due to open in the second half of 2010.

Villas in the development are built in three different styles; authentic Spanish Andalusian, bold Mediterranean, and classic European styles.
