with the 600th villa owner moving into the 961-unit golfing residential community today, the developer has announced.

The milestone comes as 75 percent of the community's 794 phase-one homes have been completed, putting the golfing residential development, which surrounds the award winning The Els Club golf course, on target for completion of the phase-one arm by the end of 2010.

New homeowner, Faruk Uddin, received the keys for the five-bed villa located in the village of Novelia from Yasser Abulrahman Al Raee, General Manger at Victory Heights which is an AED2.5bn joint venture between the Bahraini investment bank, Arcapita, and Dubai Sports City.

"I decided to buy in Victory Heights because of the expansive greenery and the close proximity to the sports facilities of Dubai Sports City," said Uddin, who travelled from his home in the UK to take ownership of the Dubai property which he describes as his "dream villa".

"I don't play golf but I am going to have to give it a go seeing as the golf course is right on my doorstep. I am also looking forward to sitting out in the landscaped garden, with the BBQ going, enjoying the evening with my family and friends," he added.

"With two- thirds of our luxury villas now in the hands of homeowners, the first phase of Victory Heights is nearing completion. The development is buzzing with activity and is really starting to feel like an established community, with its spacious homes and beautifully landscaped green spaces Victory Heights makes the perfect place to set up home," commented Al Raee.

Villas in Victory Heights are built in three different styles; authentic Spanish Andalusian, bold Mediterranean, and classic European styles, with many boasting tranquil views of the golf course's fairways and lakes.

Just a stone's throw away is Dubai Sports City offering residents easy access to all its world-class amenities, including the International Cricket Stadium, where national and international cricket and football matches are played, as well as The Els Club and The Butch Harmon School of Golf where golfers of all levels and ages can practice their game. Five Sporting Academies are also set to open later this year offering world-class coaching to children of all ages in football, hockey, rugby, swimming and cricket.
