DUBAI 92, part of the Arabian Radio Network (ARN), today announced Orlagh Mulligan as the winner of the ’Tom and Dan’ race for the grand prize of a ticket for two to the BRIT Awards 2010 and after-party.
The BRIT Awards are the British Phonographic Industry's annual pop music awards and took place on 16 February at the Earl’s Court Arena in London.
Tom and Dan waited at the entrance to Earl’s Court Tube Station last Tuesday at 4.00pm UK time with two tickets to the BRIT Awards for the first person who came up to them and said, “Tom and Dan, take me to the Brits with Dubai 92”.
The pair were mobbed by a crowd of people all shouting “Tom & Dan, take me to the Brits with DUBAI 92”. Two wannabe winners had even made t-shirts sporting the phrase on the front side and ‘We Love DUBAI 92’ on the back. It was Orlagh Mulligan who was the first to grab Tom & Dan’s hand and say the phrase correctly in full.
Wearing ‘We Love Dubai’ vests that made them very hard to miss, Tom and Dan gave Orlagh and her companion privileged access to a venue filled with celebrities and stars.
Orlagh said “We turned up at 3.15pm and decided to split up to increase our chances of spotting the guys first. I had the job of standing outside in the rain desperately trying to spot them! When they turned up it was all a bit of a blur and felt like a mass brawl of screaming people. But I was the lucky one to grab Dan’s hand and scream out the phrase first. I just could not believe our plan came together and we got the tickets! I’m still amazed!”
