Global Village, member of Tatweer Dubai and a premier tourism destination in Dubailand, had a busy weekend as crowds thronged the venue during the third week of DSF 2009. Global Village delighted its guests by surprising them with the festive carnival type of street entertainment.
Global Village hosted around 300 performers over the weekend for Dubai Carnivals, a Signature event of DSF 2009. The parade started from the Iran Pavilion at 8pm. It presented a multitude of cultures through colorful costumes, music, and various performances. Stilt walkers, jugglers, clowns, musicians, and Tanoura performers were also part of the show. Huge crowds followed the parade while many others joined the street dancing.
It was a merry weekend at the busy park of Global Village. Aside from the Dubai Carnival surprise, there were also the regular shows that continuously amazed guests. These included the Skywheel Show, the cultural shows at the pavilions, the daily street entertainment and the challenging Guinness World Record pavilion among many more.
Global Village is open until 21 February 2009. Its gates open from 4pm up to 12pm, and extend up to 2am during weekends.
