Dubai Customs celebrates UAE 38th National Day

Inline with the UAE 38th National Day celebrations, Dubai Customs organized today, November 24th, 2009 a ceremony at Customs headquarters in the presence of all employees on this occasion.

The celebration started at 8 am. The  employees assembled at Customs’ main entrance while listening to the UAE National anthem. Afterwards, H.E. Ahmed Butti Ahmed, Dubai Customs Director General delivered a speech in front of all the Department’s staff where he extended his greetings to HH Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed AlNahyan, UAE President and HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and UAE Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai as well as all UAE Rulers and the Emirati people.

H.E Ahmed Butti Ahmed also extended his greetings on this occasion which brings much joy to us and loyalty to our beloved country as well as its late founder and leader Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan AlNahyan “Since the Federation in 1971, The UAE has accomplished many achievements in all economic, politics, social and cultural fields and managed, thanks to its wise leadership, to build up a prestigious status in the international community winning the world’s respect and admiration and becoming one of the most leading countries in ensuring safe investment, legislative and clear guarantees, security and political stability, providing an advanced infrastructure as well as a multicultural place to live in” H.E. said.

His Excellence stressed that this Federation is being furthered and developed day after day while its presence is anchored in our society. He declared:“ We are all invited to keep pace with our achievements and to consider the UAE 38th National Day celebration as an opportunity to exert extra efforts in order to achieve more success and give back to this country which provides us with infinite opportunities and a decent quality of life.”

Since the beginning of this week, Dubai Customs was decorated with flags, balloons and signboards which brought more joy and delight to everyone of this occasion. Today’s celebrations which lasted for about an hour included a number of events such as the “Yola” shows for the Child Care children, a heritage tent, releasing flying balloons air and cutting the cake costumed for this occasion in the Department’s lobby.

It is worth mentioning that the Department will organize in the near future a number of events as part of celebrating the UAE National Day such as a participating in a parade on Jumeirah Street and holding “Al Furdha” Exhibition at the Mall of the Emirates. The exhibition includes rare photos of the Customs Department which was established over 100 years ago.
