Dubai- Dubai Customs Child Care Center has become an example to follow for all functional organizations in the UAE that aspire to establish similar nurseries in their departments. The Center constantly receives several delegations from a variety of government departments and organizations as well as NGOs to learn about this unique experiment that is the first of its kind in Dubai.
In this context, Dubai Customs recently received a delegation from Ajman Free Zone Authority (AFZA) on Tuesday, July 28th, 2009 to be informed about the Department's experience of creating the Center in order to benefit from it and follow the lead in the near future.
Ms. Mariam Al Shamsi, Child Care Center Manager confirmed:" Dubai Customs Childcare Center is receiving delegations from different organizations and authorities in the UAE. It has attracted attention of several government bodies that seek to encourage and boost working mothers' productivity and minimize the loss percentage of the well-qualified female cadres since the Center gives a sense of social and psychological relief for them being close to their children."
A presentation was given to the delegation on the creation of the Child Care Center project, its management, implemented programs that take into account providing a healthy and safe environment for the kids as well as the best educational and recreational programs that adopt the best international practices in this regard. Moreover, the delegation was accompanied on a tour to the Center's facilities and classrooms.
The delegation included Maitha Saif Al Mesaibi, Quality Executive and Sheikha Sroor Al Hmrani, Investors Service Executive who praised Dubai Customs Child Care Center for reinforcing working women's role and helping make a balance between family and work duties.
Maitha Al Mesaibi said that AFZA is to establish a child care center for working mothers, and it was mandatory to pay a visit to Dubai Customs Child Care Center to check its sections and facilities in order to formulate a general vision for establishing a child care center project.
It’s worth mentioning that Dubai Customs Child Care Center was initiated last April as the first of its kind among all government organizations in Dubai for the children of working mothers in the Department inline with National Corporate of Child Care Center Standards project launched by and under the patronage of HH Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Women Establishment and wife of HH Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs.
The National nurseries project has been launched in parallel with the Federal Resolution of establishing nurseries that care for working women's children at ministries, public and government organizations, authorities and departments having over 50 working mothers.
