The Dubai eGovernment Department recently organized a visit to the Community Centre for the aged (Istirahat Al Showab) in Dubai for the children participating in the Modhesh Friends Forum, along with the Forum's supervisors and also the representatives from Dubai eGovernment and the Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment. The visit to the Centre was part of the activities of Dubai Summer Surprises 2010, being held from June 17 to August 7 featuring a wide range of recreational and cultural events. This visit reflects Dubai eGovernment's strong commitment to its social responsibilities through which it connects with the different social segments, including the elderly and people with special needs.
During the visit, the Modhesh team introduced a special show involving Modhesh, the popular character. The visit also witnessed distribution of gifts to the elderly and people with special needs by Dubai eGovernment and the Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment. The recent visit comes as part of a series of visits being organized by Dubai eGovernment throughout Dubai Summer Surprises, with the aim of promoting a spirit of giving, developing social and leadership capabilities and supporting creativity and innovation among the children participating in the Forum, in line with its goal of training a young generation that is capable of building an integrated knowledge-based society.
