DUBAI INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW 2006 OPENS TOMORROW

The 14th Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS), organised by the Dubai World Trade Centre will officially open tomorrow (14 March) and is set to welcome over 25,000 visitors and participants from around the world.

Running from the 14 – 18 March 2006 at the Dubai International Marine Club, Mina Seyahi, the event is set to be the region’s largest display of boats, marine supplies and services attracting individual and trade buyers from across the world of boating and yachting.

Companies have been setting up their stands over the last few days at the Dubai International Marine Club, with over 472 manufacturers, distributors and marine organisations from 38 countries exhibiting at this year’s event. Visitors can see 123 boats on water as well as a number of super and luxury yachts, in addition to powerboats and sailing craft.

The marina display area will exhibit luxury yachts and boats over 12 metres on water including the leading names from the local and international industry. There will be a large presence from local manufacturers Gulf Craft and AS Marine as well as local dealers ART Marine and Duboats. Some of the most famous names in the leisure marine world including Azimut-Benetti, Sunseeker and Fairline will be on display.

For the first time there will also be seven national pavilions representing Australia (AIMEX & GCCC), Germany (DBSV), Italy (ICE & UCHINA), Netherlands (HISWA), New Zealand (NZ Marine), Turkey and the UK (Isle of White Chamber of Commerce).

“The Dubai International Boat Show has played a major role in the rapid development of the marine leisure industry’s regional business dynamic. This year a record of visitors will see the very latest innovations in leisure marine equipment and accessories, as well the finest power and sailing boats on water,” said Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General, Dubai World Trade Centre.

The Dubai International Boat Show, organised by the Dubai World Trade Centre will take place from 14 – 18 March 2006 at the Dubai International Marine Club, Mina Seyahi from 3pm to 9.30pm daily. The show is open free of charge to Trade and to the General Public, at a nominal cost of AED25 per person. Access to the On-Water Marina Area may be restricted at times. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied at all times. Parking at the Dubai International Boat Show is free of charge and is located in the area next to the Habtoor Grand Resort and Spa at the Dubai Marina.
