The ambitious Dubai Internet City initiative has begun to bear fruit as one of the most famous international IT companies had decided to move its regional operations to Dubai.
According to Hamed Kazim, a representative from the city, speaking to Al Ittihad daily, the city authorities are working now to develop the infrastructure and company laws that will allow the Internet city fulfill its potential. He outlined the advantages of the City which comprise cheap land prices, duty exemption and other incentives. In his view, Dubai Internet City does not constitute a threat or competition for other free trade zones in Dubai (like Jebel Ali), but rather added value for the industries located in these zones.
