Dubai Police Chief Major General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim attended the closing ceremony of the “Together to Achieve Security and Safety” program at Umm Suqueim Park in Jumeirah, according to Gulf News. The closing ceremony took place on Thursday night.

The program was aimed at spreading awareness among the public on the effective role which police can play in their lives.

The program ran between January 2 and 24, twice a week, in Al Qusais, Rashidiya, Satwa and finally in Jumeirah.

Dhahi said, “Despite the cold weather and the wind, I can see that the attendance is really encouraging. I have to admit that I didn't think the program would be so popular and successful” and added, “Dubai is a loved city, and from what I see, I can say that people really love the programs which Dubai Police come up with. Children enjoy them too”.

In addition, the Major General said that, “Dubai police have organized other awareness programs over the years. Our theme is that we go to the people, they don't have to come to us.” The children said they want the program to run throughout the year, and not just for a short period of time, because they enjoyed and benefited from it significantly.

Major General Dhahi said the program would hopefully continue due to its success and the children's demand. He encouraged, “Hopefully, we will be able to meet the demand of our little audience. There are other useful and interesting programs that we are planning for them”. (Albawaba.com)
