Dubai Quality Group (DQG), a non-profit organization dedicated to raise the general performance level of the local business environment, has signed a memorandum of agreement on behalf of the Emirates Energy Award with the Indian National Productivity Council (NPC) and UK Centre for Economical and Environmental Development (CEED). The agreement enhances the scope of the DQG-organized Emirates Energy Award and improve cooperative efforts towards promoting energy conservation and management.

"Dubai Quality Group is delighted to welcome our new partners in the campaign to raise awareness about energy conservation. The UK Center for Economical and Environmental Development and the Indian National Productivity Council will help us expand our pool of resources in instituting, assessing and conducting awards related to energy conservation," said Marwan Al Sawaleh, Chairman, DQG.

The agreement opens up channels for communication between the three parties, boosts cooperation, provides free membership in each organization by either party, creates a link between the websites of each party, and enhances the exchange of ideas and support in implementing awards, conferences and seminars in each country.

"Being an international award, it is important for the Emirates Energy Award to establish strong international relations and take advantage of the expertise and resources made available by these strategic partnerships. Dubai Quality Group looks forward to attaining positive results from our collaboration with these excellent organizations," said Dr. Abdalla Al Amiri, Award Committee chairman.

Launched by the DQG under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the Emirates Energy Award recognizes the best implemented practices in energy conservation and management that showcase innovative, cost-effective and replicable energy efficiency measures.

The Award will be granted in six categories: Public Corporation Energy Award, Private Corporation Energy Award, Energy Engineer Award, Major Energy Project Award, Minor Energy Project Award, and Education and Research Award. Deadline for submission of entries is July 25, 2007, while more information about the award is available on its website www.eeaward.ae.
