Under the patronage of the Embassy of the Republic of Hungary, Abu Dhabi, renowned violinist Mr. Mátyás Németh held recently a classical recital at Dubai Women’s College (DWC).  The event is part of a series of on-going cultural activities that take place at the College throughout the academic year.
Mr. Mátyás graduated from the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest in 2008, and won a number of prestigious awards along his career. He has performed solo concerts in Germany, Austria, Italy, China, Slovakia and Hungary, and also played alongside famous conductors like Zoltán Kocsis, György Ligeti, Ennio Morricone, Kálmán Berkes, Ádám Medveczky and András Keller.
The event was attended by Dr. Howard Reed, Senior HCT Director and DWC Director, students, faculty and staff. Dr. Reed said “DWC is fortunate in having an accomplished Hungarian violinist perform in our Student Centre.  Thanks to the Hungarian Embassy, this great opportunity for our students to broaden their cultural perspectives, has been donated free of charge.  This is a great example of the many partnerships that DWC has with the broader community to help young Emiratis become the global citizens they need to be. “
