According to Egyptian press reports, Egypt's ruling National Democratic Party is planning to hold a mass rally at the return of President Hosni Mubarak from his medical trip to Germany where he had a successful operation to remove his gallbladder in Hailberg university hospital. It is reported that the supporters of the party have been using the Internet to invite the Egyptian people to receive Mubarak at Cairo International Airport, in a similar rally which took place recently when the former director of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Dr. Mohamed ElBaradei arrived in Cairo.

The independednt Shoruq newspaper quoted the Chairman of the Electronic Committee of the National Party, Mustafa Ahmed as saying the Commission received hundreds of letters which ask to go to Cairo airport to receive Mubarak, noting that it is currently being studied intensively. He said the committee is now waiting for instructions from the party, "so that we can mobilize thousands in all provinces to be at the airport in Cairo. "

Meanwhile, Addustor newspaper reported that the Secretariat of the National Democratic Party had issued instructions to all the senior officials not to travel abroad until Mubarak's return. The Parliament Speaker, Dr. Sorour, has already delayed his trip to Jordan on Thursday as the head of the Egyptian parliamentary delegation participating in the Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Conference.
