The Egyptian Capital Market Authority (CMA) has embarked on the transformation of its paper archive into an electronic one. The agency chairman Abdul Hamid Ibrahim told the Cairo-based Al Alam Al Yawm newspaper that the electronic archive is currently under preparation in collaboration with the USAID agency, which will primarily provide the equipment necessary for the project. He pointed out that the agency paper archive is now estimated at being around 1.6 million papers.
For his part, the press official, Mahmoud Abdul Qader, added in a statement to Albawaba.com that the project is still in the preparatory stages.
Nevertheless, Internet users will not be able to go into the e-archive. “After the completion of the project, it is not expected that the electronic archive will be accessible to Internet community,” Abdul Qader said.
