A delegation from Egypt's Chambers of Commerce Union arrived in Tehran on Saturday for several days of talks aimed at boosting bilateral trade, state radio said.

The delegation, headed by union chairman Khaled Abu Ismail, will meet with business leaders and is due to sign a cooperation accord with its Iranian counterparts, it said.

Relations between Cairo and Tehran, which were broken in 1980 after the Islamic revolution in Iran, have warmed in recent years and are now at the level of charges d'affaires.

Officials from both sides have called recently for a full restoration of diplomatic relations – TEHRAN (AFP)
