Emarat Participates in the Festivities of the International Day for Drug Abuse

Emirates General Petroleum Corporation "Emarat", will participate as usual this year in the festivities of the International Day for Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The event, which was organized by the Ministry of Interior to coincide with the international celebration by the UNODC on June 26th, aimed at enticing nations to enhance their activities and programs for the creation of awareness against drug abuse by members of the society.

Hussain Kazim, Manager, Corporate Communications, Emarat, said that the objectives of this campaign coincided with our guidelines and commitment towards our society and its wellbeing. The corporation's participation in the international day, which was held under the theme of "My family, my happiness .... No to drugs", included a major awareness campaign against the dangers of drug abuse. The campaign featured at the corporation's various service stations as part of Emarat's drive to demonstrate the commitment of national organizations towards the local society.

He said that the UAE, represented by the Ministry of Interior, had exerted significant efforts to combat the dangers of drug abuse and illicit trafficking through a series of programs and nation-wide campaigns. A Supreme Committee was also in charge of setting up the proper strategies and programs to combat and eliminate the drug abuse problems and protect the society from its evils. The committee coordinated with other international bodies in that regards.

As part of its own campaign, Emarat will distribute T-shirts and caps specially designed to show the event logo and slogan in addition to its own emblem. Thousands of Emarat customers were presented with these symbolic items as part of the corporation's commitment to social issues and concern for the drug abuse problem.
