EMC Telecom Summit to Explore New Business and Revenue Generating Opportunities for Telecom Operators

EMC Corporation (NYSE:EMC), the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, today announced the company’s seventh Annual EMC Telecom Summit for the Middle East, North-West Africa and Turkey to be held in Dubai on March 3, 2010.  The Annual Summit is designed to offer senior executives from the leading Telecom operators greater insights into how to create new opportunities from the challenges facing the industry today.     

The Summit will provide the strategic context required to transform IT infrastructures from cost centers into new business and revenue generating engines for growth.  This transformation and shift in mindset represents the “Journey to Cloud” and will serve as the backdrop to the Summit.   EMC and industry executives to be hosting and presenting at the Summit include the following:

The Summit agenda covered a market analysis of the telecommunication industry and how the traditional revenue generation methods of telecom operators are bound to change.  It covered also EMC Global and Regional strategies and how did EMC manage to thrive in the economic downturn.  The agenda addressed the changes of the IT industry, and how cloud computing being the next big wave of the industry is changing the way IT is managed and consumed, and how it will create new opportunities of revenue generation for the Telecommunications industry as well as adding efficiency, agility and scalability to the IT infrastructure of Telecom operators while allowing them to maintain control and ensure security. Along with it’s Partners Cisco and VMware, EMC demonstrated how the Virtual Computing Environment coalition or Private Cloud can help their customers overcome their IT operational challenges and achieve the ROI expected by the business.  Summit participants will be actively encouraged to discuss and debate the opportunities and challenges of implementing the cloud computing model and what are the expectations form the IT vendors today to enable new ways of revenue generation for the telecom operators.
