Emirates Advocates signs MoU with Dubai eGovernment to adopt ePay service
The First Law Firm in Middle East to adopt ePay service
Dubai eGovernment has recently announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Emirates Advocates, one of the largest law firms in the UAE and Middle East, to facilitate the use of its ePay service by the clients of the firm. ePay is a centralized payment gateway integrated with the payment systems of government departments, thereby enabling payment through credit cards, eDirham or the direct debit facility.
“The ePay system represents a highly secure, efficient and reliable payment mechanism for our clients, and moreover it will significantly help in streamlining our operations,” said Dr. Khalid Kadfoor Al Mehairi, Founder, Chairman and Attorney-at-Law, Emirates Advocates. “We look forward to leveraging Dubai eGovernment’s expertise in successfully managing the ePay system to ensure maximum benefit to our growing clientele.”
DeG is working to provide the ePay service to the private sector. The advantages of this service are that it supports multiple payment methods including credit cards from Visa, MasterCard and American Express as well as the Dubai eGovernment prepaid card and credit cards, eDirham and direct debit; supports multiple payment channels such as Internet kiosks and IVR, and provides a single standard interface for all service providers. Besides generating revenues, the ePay service fully complements Dubai’s growth strategy and is one of the initiatives by the government as it looks to create a robust digital society.
In addition to Emirates Advocates, ePay is being used by several government departments such as Dubai Municipality, Dubai Police, Department of Health and Medical Services (DOHMS), Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA), Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai International Airports, Land Department, Dubai Chamber and eTQM.
