Emirates, the Dubai-based global airline, on Tuesday confirmed its commitment to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) by extending their Official Club Sponsorship until 2014.
Emirates has been a sponsor of PSG since 2005 and the main shirt sponsor since 2006, and is looking forward to extending its support for a club, which has some of the most passionate football supporters in the world. After winning the ‘Coupe de la Ligue Final’ at Stade de France earlier this year, Emirates is determined for the winning partnership to reach new highs over the coming years.
Highly visible Emirates branding will continue in the club's world famous, Parc des Princes stadium, as well as the Fly Emirates logo on the team shirt.
PSG has been an integral part of French football's long and illustrious history, and it is one of the only French clubs to have never been relegated from the highly competitive Championnat de France Ligue 1, France’s top professional football league.
Boutros Boutros, Emirates’ Senior Vice President, Media Relations, Sponsorships and Events, said: “These are really exciting times for PSG and Emirates Airline, and that is why we are pledging our support to the club and its formidable legion of fans across France. At Emirates, we want to connect PSG fans both in France and across the world.”
Chairman of Board of Directors, Charles Villeneuve said: “We are thrilled that Emirates Airline has decided to continue its commitment to Paris Saint-Germain as the official club sponsor. It shows us that Emirates is a true investor in the sport of football and intends to help us achieve our goals every step of the way.
"The high level of continuity and credibility as well as the great closeness between Emirates and the club form the foundation for the enduring success of this collaboration," commented Jean-François Jeanne, Vice President Sales of SPORTFIVE. "We are therefore very pleased that this successful partnership will now continue in the long term.”
A major supporter of sport globally, Emirates is one of the world's fastest growing and most successful international airlines. Sport sponsorship is a vital part of Emirates' growth strategy and it believes sport is an ideal platform to reach out to its customers through sharing and supporting their interests across the world.
Paris Saint-Germain is one of many successful Emirates sport sponsorships in France, which include last year’s hugely successful IRB Rugby World Cup, as well as the kit sponsor for the IRB Elite Referees Panel.
The airline currently connects travellers to over 100 destinations in more than 60 countries around the world, and operates twice daily between Dubai and Paris, as well as three times a week between Dubai and Nice, which will increase to five non-stop flights to Nice on 1st December.
