Dubai World Trade Centre’s (DWTC) rate of Emiratisation increase is among the highest in the UAE, with figures boosted by a number of new senior and middle management appointments, it was announced today.
Over 25 UAE nationals have joined DWTC since 2006, with new employees receiving significant opportunities for personal and professional development in the region’s fast-growing real estate, hospitality, convention and exhibitions industries.
The majority of senior management positions are now filled by UAE nationals, covering a wide range of roles from project managers to human resources and sales. The number of UAE nationals employed in senior positions by DWTC has now more than doubled from 45 in 2004 to 94 at the present.
In addition to seven new top management positions, DWTC has appointed another 18 UAE nationals as middle managers during the past four months.
“By employing such a significant number of UAE nationals to these prominent and important positions, DWTC is demonstrating its commitment to realising their full potential,” said Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General, Dubai World Trade Centre.
“The local economy benefits as a whole from their skills and experience as some of the finest business leaders the UAE has to offer, and we are privileged to be in a position to offer employment to such talented individuals,” he added.
Recent appointments include Essa Al Zaabi, who has joined DWTC as director of human resources, while Dr. Wafi Dawood takes up a position as director of corporate performance and quality. Khaled Y. Al Fahim has become development manager for DWTC’s ambitious real estate projects with Mohammad Ali Mohd Ahmed Al Shihhe joining as sales manager, property.

Jamal Salem Humaid Al Shaer also joins the company in the role of project manager while Yousef Al Ali and Amer Mohd Ali Ahmad take up positions as assistant project managers.
