The Entrepreneurs Forum, an initiative supported by the Department of Economic Development to encourage UAE entrepreneurs, has awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to ENOC for its active involvement in the government’s drive towards empowering Emiratis and establishing the UAE national identity.

The company has also supported the Entrepreneurs Forum through active participation in workshops, seminars and training programmes organised by the non-profit organisation to help ambitious UAE entrepreneurs establish their own businesses.

Saeed Abdullah Khoory, ENOC Group Chief Executive, said: “Encouraging entrepreneurship is an important step in achieving the government’s goal of nationalisation. It is the engine of job creation and will provide employment to more nationals. It is important for the private and public sectors to work closely with government initiatives like the Entrepreneuership Forum to encourage start ups and Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) to succeed and be an example for aspiring entrepreneurs.”

ENOC has already surpassed several targets in Emiratisation with almost 80 percent of its national workforce in leadership roles. The group also regularly conducts internship programmes and participates in national career fairs to familiarise national graduates with job opportunities in the oil and gas sector.

Established in 2004, the Entrepreneurs Forum brings together young UAE Nationals, businessmen and government departments to raise awareness about the business opportunities in the SME sector and to project the importance of the sector in the overall development of the society.

The Forum focuses on marketing, promotion and research, to strengthen SMEs and to develop the economic environment to suit small businesses. In addition to organising workshops and seminars, providing training, and mentoring, the forum also acts as a networking centre designed to provide solutions to problems faced by SMEs through shared experiences.
