Environmentally friendly waste disposal device showcased at Arab Health
An environmentally friendly, leak proof disposal device, designed to safely discard non-sharps waste in laboratories safely, will be showcased at Arab Health 2009 – the largest healthcare event in the Middle East.
Designed by health and safety specialists Cairn Technology, who are celebrating their 10th anniversary in January, the Microb-in biological waste container offers a safe solution to biomedical scientists, who need to get rid of biological waste quickly and regularly.
Ensuring safety first, the device has a unique sealing mechanism which provides a highly secure fastening. As well as offering protection for staff, the unit can also cut down disposal costs in laboratories as it is stackable and space-efficient.
The Microb-in container is one of three infection control and health and safety products designed by Cairn Technology that will be showcased at the exhibition.
Also on display will be a super absorbent T-mat that hygienically collects and binds fluids that are released during surgical procedures. A simple, inexpensive and effective way of disposing of surgical waste, the polymer gelling technology rapidly absorbs gels and liquids promoting a cleaner and safer working environment.
Also at the show will be spill contingency management equipment – the Chemical Spill Station - which can deal with hazardous chemical spills quickly and efficiently. The kit ensures hospitals are always prepared for emergencies and in the event of a spillage, departments can continue to function smoothly and staff and patients are kept safe.
