Etisalat created a momentous day by drawing four millionaires on a single day in the fifth week of its ongoing ‘24 Millionaires’ campaign. Luck shone upon four Etisalat customers - Emirati winners Suhail Obaid Al Hufaity, a retired lieutenant colonel from Ministry of Interior and Mohammad Saeed Alshihi, an army personnel; Richard Philip Das, an Indian housekeeper working at the World Trade Centre and Masimbi Rashid, a teacher from Uganda - who recharged their Wasel cards and won the raffle draw for AED 1 million each.
The ongoing ‘24 Millionaires’ mega promotion that will continue till 14th November, provides an incredible opportunity to 24 lucky customers to win AED 24 million. Two lucky customers, recharging their Wasel accounts during the promotion, are selected every week to win AED 2 Million, through an electronic raffle draw that is conducted in the presence of a senior member from Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce. .The fourth and fifth week draws were cumulatively conducted post Eid vacations to announce four lucky winners, this week.
Masimbi Rashid, the 57 year old Ugandan Islamic teacher is a tourist visiting his brother in UAE. "I borrowed AED 6000 to visit my brother and spend Ramadan and Eid with him. I haven’t been able to sleep well ever since I received the call from Etisalat, I still cannot believe it. It’s like being in the right place at the right time! AED 1 million is a huge sum in my country!! I would like to build a school in the capital city of Kampala, the largest one with high academic standards, to make education affordable for all. I will use the balance amount to help some of my family members and friends. This amount of money could change the face of my city and I cannot thank Etisalat enough for bringing this opportunity into my life."
Das, the 8th winner dismissed the call from the Etisalat official as a prank, "I could not believe this to be true. In seven years of my stay in Dubai, I have never won anything, so it seemed like a joke at first. I was aware of the promotion and had recharged my card for AED 100 to make a long distance call to India to get the benefit from the extra credit as well as get more chances to win. Etisalat has made my dream come true. I am still in shock; this is bound to change our lives in a big way. I want to utilize 10% of this prize money to help my friends and family here and in my country and save some for my daughter's future. I also have loans to pay off."
Alshihi is thankful to God Almighty and expressed his gratitude towards Etisalat, "This win has come to me at the correct time in my life. I will be able to pay off my loans instantly and plan for my family's future too, thanks to Etisalat."
Fujairah resident, Al Hufaity was extremely delighted when he heard the news, "My family and I are very happy to be the amongst the lucky winners of 1 million Dirhams"
"Etisalat has been part of our lives since childhood. We are well aware of Etisalat's CSR activities and social initiatives in shaping the community as well as the noble intentions of giving back to the common man in one way or another. This is yet another testimony of Etisalat's contribution to the society." He added
