ALBAWABA - The European Union announced on Thursday 120 million euros ($123 million) in aid for Gaza a day following the ceasefire deal between Hamas and Israel.

"Today we are also adopting a package of 120 million euros for Gaza to address the ongoing humanitarian crisis there," EU spokesperson Eva Hrncirova said.

On Jan. 15, mediators uncovered that a ceasefire deal containing three phases was agreed ending over 15 months of war in Gaza, where 46,707 Palestinians have been killed.

Airstrikes on Gaza continued following the announcement of the agreement on a ceasefire deal between Hamas and Israel. AFP reported citing the Health Ministry in Gaza that 81 people were killed in 24 hours, despite the announcement of the ceasefire.

CNN confirmed that the first phase of the ceasefire deal will last six weeks and it includes the withdrawal of Israeli troops, a swap of hostages and prisoners, and an increase of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

Qatari Prime Minister also noted that the second and third phases are less developed, and talks on their details will start during the first phase.
