Exemplary levels of Jeddah’s luxury hotel service reach even greater heights

Back to school for the celebrated team of butlers at Rosewood Corniche

Emphasising the importance of personalized service, Rosewood Corniche has teamed up with the International Institute of Modern Butlers to further enhance the Jeddah luxury hotel’s celebrated butler team.

While many five-star hotels across the GCC may not deliver a service comparable with the cost, this renowned luxury hotel is taking the initiative to augment their already acclaimed level of service.  Rosewood Corniche is undertaking the butler development with the help of two world-class leaders in hospitality service.

Steven Ferry, Founder and Chairman of the International Institute of Modern Butlers, and his colleague Budi Prihardjanto, Far East Director of the company, have extensive international experience in butler training and service, and are now actively working with the Rosewood Corniche butler team until mid-November 2008.

The training revolves around a series of lessons in the hotel suites and the classroom, in which Ferry and Prihardjanto provide role playing scenarios and hands-on coaching for Rosewood Corniche’s team of butlers.

The butler lessons bring dynamic and creative approaches to honouring the time-tested methods of traditional butlering and simultaneously updating techniques and redefining what gold class service means.

“We are excited to work with the International Institute of Modern Butlers and elevate our Butler service to new heights,” said Hans-Peter Leitzke, Managing Director of Rosewood Corniche.

“Steven Ferry and Budi Prihardjanto are titans in the hospitality industry, and we are grateful to have them share our dedication to excellence and provide us with new ideas and instruction to deliver the highest level of personalized service to Rosewood Corniche guests.”

Steven Ferry has been an important fixture in the hospitality service industry for the last two decades. A founding member of the International Guild of Traditional Butlers and the International Institute of Modern Butlers, Ferry is seen as a world-wide authority on butlering, and has authored 20 books and hundreds of articles for numerous publications.

Ferry continues to privately train butlers for positions in estates, resorts, and private households, while also lecturing at distinguished institutions across the world.

Budi Prihardjanto has experience for a decade at some of the most exclusive hotels and resorts in the Middle East and South East Asia.  His expertise in a number of service fields, running rooms division, front office, room service and housekeeping in addition to butler recruitment and training, has been invaluable to his success.

Rosewood Corniche’s partnership with the International Institute of Modern Butlers reflects the growing demand for the highest level of service from luxury hotel guests.  In a faltering global economy, with information on every international hotel readily available on the internet, consumers are increasingly savvy in evaluating properties.  There has never been more emphasis placed on value for money.

Rosewood properties strive to constantly deliver outstanding levels of personalized service, and Rosewood Corniche’s initiative to refine its butler team is in accordance with the hotel’s reputation as well as the demands of discerning travellers worldwide.

Designed for both business and leisure travel, Rosewood Corniche is ideally positioned on Jeddah’s Corniche, one of the city’s most impressive districts.  The celebrated Jeddah Corniche runs parallel to the Red Sea for over 20 miles, and provides convenient access to the city’s business and leisure areas.

As the only ultra-luxury hotel in Jeddah, the stunning Rosewood Corniche redefines modern elegance and offers unparalleled personal service and world-class amenities.
