Explosives Target Israelis in Gaza Strip, Jerusalem

Two explosive charges were activated in an Israeli area in Gaza Strip, Israeli area, while an additional charge was set off at Karni juncture in Karni area, according to the Israeli radio on Wednesday evening. 

Meanwhile, the Israeli Ynet reported that there was an explosion in a car next to the Jerusalem Theatre, that led to the injury of one person. 

The Israeli police said that the explosion was unlikely caused by a car bomb.  

In the meantime, five Molotov cocktails were thrown from Eisawieh village in Jerusalem outskirts, according to the radio. 

The radio also reported Israeli forces’ firing on the Casino in Jericho, at the same time with tank, helicopter and machine guns attacks on Ramallah, Hebron, Tulkarem, Beit Jala and Beit Sahour. 

The Israeli radio said that Jerusalem mayor, Ehud Olmert, has called for isolating Beit Jala. 

Olmert, who was caught in crossfire, said he believed the fire is not coming from residents of the town of Beit Jala, but from non-local Palestinians in the town who were attacking Gilo, said the Jerusalem Post Wednesday evening. 

Olmert is calling on the government to prevent anyone entering or leaving Beit Jala, it added.. 

Earlier, Jewish settlers residents of the Yitzhar settlement near Nablus reportedly shot and wounded two Palestinians working in an olive grove near the community, according to the Jerusalem Post on the same day.  

Salah Safedi, age 36, was shot in the neck and Said Abdel Hadi Safedi, age 19, was shot in the skull. The two are from the village of Urif near Nablus, according to the paper, which said the Israeli army had no comment on the shooting – (Several Sources)
