Famous Chilean Author to Lecture in Morocco

Sergio Masias, the famous Chilean author and poet, is scheduled to arrive soon in the kingdom.  


During his stay, he will lecture on the Arab presence in Latin-American literature. Al Anbaa daily reports that the award-winning Masias will begin his lecture tour March 10th at the Rabat Liberal Arts College as part of a symposium on "Morocco in the Latin American literature." On March 13th and 14th he will participate in a meeting to be held in Fez regarding the Chilean presence in the Arab World. 


Masias was born in Cordoba (Chile) in 1938, but immigrated to Spain. He focuses on Andalusian literature. He has written 15 poetry collections, two of which were devoted to the Moroccan city of Tetouan.
