Federal Authority for Government Human Resources launches “HR Club” to promote idea exchange

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has announced the launch of the "Human Resources Club", a strategic initiative to activate and sustain wide-ranging dialogue on human capital management among professionals and decision-makers.

The launch of the Club was announced by His Excellency Humaid Mohammad al-Qutami, UAE Minister of Education and Chairman of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources at a special ceremony held today.

Announcing the launch, Al-Qutami said the Club is part of the strategy of the Federal Authority of Government Human Resources to enhance cross-sectoral communication in HR and integrate such exchanges into the overall efforts to achieve the UAE Vision 2021, which aims to make the UAE one of the best countries in the world by 2021, the golden jubilee of the federation.

"The HR Club is an innovative platform to facilitate exchange of knowledge and experience between HR professionals in the UAE and provide a quality environment to debate HR challenges. The club will provide the opportunity to review the best HR practices and experiences in the federal, local, private, and international sectors," said Al-Qutami.

Al-Qutami also highlighted the first "International Human Resources Conference and Exhibition (IHRC)", to be held in Dubai under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to emphasise government-led efforts to build a dynamic HR environment within the country.

The conference and exhibition will be held at the Dubai International Conventions & Exhibitions Centre from the 19th to the 20th of January 2011 under the theme "Human Resources: The Sustainable Capital for the New Era".

His Excellency Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Awar, Director-General of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources said the HR Club will create a networking platform for HR practitioners thereby promoting innovative ideas in developing the talent capital in the UAE. He also highlighted the strategic focus of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources in developing a national human capital that complements the UAE Vision 2021.

"The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources strives to support and develop HR in the federal level as this sector is the corner stone of implementing the strategic plans and vision of our leadership. We adopt effective mechanisms for the federal government through recruiting the right candidates, providing training and development opportunities in line with the best HR practices, improving staff satisfaction, and continuously upgrading the capabilities of the ministries in planning and implementing HR development programmes," concluded Al Awar.
