ALBAWABA - Finnish President Alexander Stubb stressed that Israel's attack on Qatar is unacceptable, a violation of international law, and complicates the achievement of regional peace and stability, Al Jazeera reported on Wednesday.

Moreover, Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide also said that Israel's attack on Doha is not only a violation of Qatar's sovereignty but also a blow to the entire concept of diplomacy.

Nonetheless, the government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo) affirmed its solidarity with Qatar, emphasizing Doha's long-standing role as a mediator and advocate for dialogue and peace.

The UN secretary general wrote on X: "I strongly condemn the Israeli attacks in Qatar – a clear violation of the country’s sovereignty & territorial integrity. Qatar has played a positive role to achieve a ceasefire & the release of all hostages."

On Sept. 9, several explosions were reported in the Qatari capital, Doha, as Israel announced targeting senior Hamas officials during their meeting to discuss a ceasefire plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip.

Smoke was seen rising over the Katara District following the explosion sounds, an eyewitness said, Reuters reported Tuesday.

The army released a statement confirming targeting Hamas officials in Qatar, but stressed that "prior to the strike, measures were taken in order to mitigate harm to civilians, including the use of precise munitions and additional intelligence."

The Israeli army wrote on Tuesday, "The IDF and ISA conducted a precise strike targeting the senior leadership of the Hamas terrorist organization."
