Moto X Takes to the Air Amidst a Dramatic Dubai Sky 04th December 2006 Dubai UAE; After intermittent rain and high winds on Saturday forced event organizers to cancel the day’s programme, the 2nd Annual ESPN X Games Dubai presented by Mountain Dew came to an end last night with more than 14,000 fans in attendance. For the first time since the event start, expert Moto X champions Cameron Sinclair, Joel Balchin, Steve Mini, Jake Bowen and Rhys Hiller were able to take to the air for dynamic aerial maneuvers that thrilled and wowed the crowds. Skateboarders, BMXers and Aggressive In-line Skaters took to the half pipe for a dazzling display of freelance tricks that left the fans screaming for more. “The final day of the ESPN X Games Dubai 2006 Presented by Mountain Dew has been amazing. Despite the challenging weather on day two, today has seen fantastic crowds that are embracing the athletes and our sponsors – a great testimony to the strength of the X Games brand and action sports in the region.” said John Gassner, Senior Director, International X Games. The event was capped off by a vert show highlighted by Takeshi Yasutoko’s double flat spin, Tim Wood’s and fireworks display on the Dubai Creek. The ESPN X Games Dubai presented by Mountain Dew and sponsored by Dodge were also supported by Hugo Energise, Electronic Arts, Rage, the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Sony Playstation Portable, Dubai Autodrome, and Orbit.
