First Ever Digital Print and Imaging Summit 2009 Concludes With Resounding Success

The event bridged the gap between vendors and end users or decision makers, thus providing them with a platform to discuss and engage in conversations that can bring about solutions, which can work at reducing printing and imaging costs, across an organisation.

Aspire Events announced that its Digital Print and Imaging Summit 2009 event completed with a resounding success. The first of its kind event for the regional print and imaging industry, which was sponsored by prominent market leaders such as Lexmark, EMC, OKI, Brother, Kyocera, GCG, and Profiman, was held at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai.  Delegates from across the region attended, which included decision makers, CIOs and IT managers from government organisations, oil and gas companies, travel management companies and large enterprises, participated at the event.

Event highlights included a panel discussion titled “Printing and Imaging in the Tough Economy.” “At a time, when the world is reeling over the current economic crisis, the last thing any enterprise wants is increased overheads – such as high printing and imaging costs,” explained Dojo Jose, the Director of Aspire Events. “The Summit’s main focus was how to steer print and imaging costs through an unpredictable economy, punctuating the Summit's chosen panel discussion topic of ‘Printing and Imaging in a Tough Economy.’ The panel discussion bridged the gap between vendors and end users or decision makers (such as CIOs, CTOs, IT Managers, and so on), thus giving them a platform to discuss and engage in conversations, which can bring about solutions that can work at reducing printing and imaging costs, across an organisation.”

At the event, presentations on various printing and imaging topics were also presented. These included presentations titled “Print Less and Save More” by Lexmark, while OKI Printing Solutions spoke about “Cost Effective Eco-Friendly Printing Approach.” Presenters from EMC meanwhile spoke about Document Management Systems, while Profiman presented an insight into outsourced printing and imaging services. The summit’s main focus also included increasing productivity and deriving competitive advantage by deploying effective printing and imaging solutions enterprise-wide. The event also included one-to-one meetings with Top Buyers from various GCC countries.

"For ASPIRE Events in the Middle East this was a milestone and illustrates that the region is experiencing the same printing and imaging demands as other parts of the world. More and more businesses in this market are recognising the short and long-term benefits of investing in ‘value for money’ digital printing and imaging technologies,” added Jose. “This was a great opportunity to actually gather the region’s printing and imaging experts at one venue. Attendees told us again and again how they've needed an event such as Digital Print and Imaging Summit 2009 for a long time and that the education they received – from the presentations and one-to-one meetings – was priceless as they plan their printing and imaging strategies.”
