Dubai will host the Middle East’s first ever summit on Public Relations measurement next week.
The event is being organized by MediaWatch, the Middle East’s leading provider of media monitoring, research, distribution and evaluation services and is supported by the Institute of Public Relations (IPR). Some 200 PR and communications professionals are expected to attend the 2 day summit on 18-19th March at the Habtoor Grand Hotel.
Mediawatch’s Managing Director, Mazen Nahawi, said that the Middle East PR industry had never experienced such a summit and as such it promises to be a ground-breaking event.
“The PR industry in the Middle East is growing at a rapid pace, driven by the economic boom the region is enjoying and the fact that an ever increasing number of international and local companies see the practice of PR as an integral part of their marketing mix,” he said. “Nevertheless, there is still a need for the industry to prove its value through sound and progressive measurement techniques. This summit is designed to allow examination and discussion into the continued development, refinement and implementation of measurement techniques and standards for the public relations field."
“Speakers include David Michaelson, Ph.D., Managing Director of David Michaelson & Associates, and a long-term member of the Commission on Public Relations Evaluation and Measurement of the Institute for Public Relations, on which the Middle Summit and Awards are based,” he said.
“He will be joined by Katie Delahaye Paine, the founder of KDPaine & Partners LLC where she Managing director. She is also the publisher of the first blog and the first newsletter for marketing and communications professionals dedicated entirely to measurement and accountability.”
A wide range of topics will be covered including Aligning measurement to business objectives, resource libraries, dashboards, field studies, surveys, best practice, how to measure output, outcome, outtakes, and measuring the impact of PR on sales.
