Fitness First ‘Host Sponsor’ of Fiji Team for Dubai Rugby Sevens 2010

– Fitness First, the world's number one health and fitness club chain and a member of Landmark Group, today announced it is the host sponsor of the Fiji team for the Dubai Rugby Sevens 2010.

To mark the chain's support of the team, Gary Knill, COO, Fitness First Middle East, chaired a lunch event for the players at the Landmark Group's Mango Tree Bistro.

Fitness First later invited the Fiji team to meet members at the new 'Platinum' Health Club in Mirdif City Centre, the newest addition to the Fitness First network in the UAE.

During the interaction, Fiji team members signed rugby shirts and rugby balls that will be auctioned for charity by Fitness First. The players also gave away autographs and exclusive photo-opportunities to Fitness First club members and the attending media. The guests additionally received attractive memorabilia to mark the occasion.

The Dubai Sevens has grown into a magical event that not only attracts fans from around the globe but offers some of the best action – both on and off the pitch. The Dubai event will feature 160 international teams playing in invitational, Gulf, local / social, ladies, veterans, and youth teams all pitching for honours over three gruelling days from 2 – 4 December.

Fiji has been drawn in the same pool as England, Portugal and France, and will play the opening international match against the Portuguese at 9.20am on 3 December. As a host sponsor, Fitness First will have a hospitality table at the VIP area of the Rugby Sevens, which will host the Fiji Team as well as a booth In the Rugby village
