A raging fire erupted Friday on a stretch of oil pipeline in southwest Iran, killing five people in a car who were trapped by the flames driving through the region, the official IRNA news agency reported.
A firefighter was burned in the feet and transported to hospital, it added.
Firefighters were sent immediately to try to control the blaze about 10 kilometers (six miles) south of Khorramabad, the area's governor Mohammad Baharvand told IRNA.
Baharvand said an investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire on the pipeline carrying crude from neighboring oil fields to the north of the country -- TEHRAN (AFP)
