At least three people have been killed in flash floods caused by heavy rains in the northeastern part of Iran, an official said Sunday.
Vahid Barakchi, who is in charge of the natural disaster headquarters in the governor's office of the northeastern Khorasan province, said 15 minutes of torrential rain on Saturday caused flash flooding in several areas, the Islamic Republic News Agency reported.
Flooding near the city of Quchan killed one person, Barakchi said. Two others died in the city of Shirvan. Several homes in villages had also been damaged, the agency reported. (Albawaba.com)
