A former Iranian ambassador to Lebanon is feared to be among the dead in Saudi Arabia after the deadly Hajj stampede, the Associated Press reported.

State-owned TV reported Iranian diplomat Ghazanfar Roknabadi went missing after Thursday's stampede in Mina killed 769 pilgrims. Two Iranian reporters and a political analyst are also missing, according to the broadcast.

Iran has had the highest known death toll from the Hajj stampede, with more than 130 nationals confirmed dead and 350 missing. The country has demanded to be a part of the Saudi investigation on the incident.
