Four shipping lines have started last month a container freight service from Southeast Asia to the UAE, via the Indian Subcontinent, an operator told Gulf News Monday.
The Emirati daily said the container freight rate from the Gulf to Southeast Asia is currently running at $50 to $100 per TEU - some of their lowest levels in several months.
Samudera Shipping Line (SSL), American Presidential Line (APL), CMA-CGM and Contship have started the Galex service, with each of them operating a 800-1,000 TEU average capacity vessel on the route, said the paper – Albawaba.com
